March 17, 2017 – Let’s play something dark this week!

The Nintendo Switch eShop received a handful of ported games this week, and they all seem to have one thing in common: being dark and atmospheric. Instead of choosing just one, we thought we would let you lovely folks choose your own featured game this week!

Play one or more of Tomorrow Corporation’s trio of quirky titles: World of Goo, Little Inferno, or Human Resource Machine. Or try out the dark dungeon crawler The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+, which is also available in physical format. Whatever you decide to play, use #letsplaydark on social media to let us know your thoughts!

Nintendo Switch Buyer’s Guide

Nintendo’s newest console, the Nintendo Switch, is available now. It’s a brand-new, dedicated video game console designed to give you the freedom to play games at home on the TV or on the go with its tablet-like main body and detachable controllers. There are several Nintendo Switch games available now and dozens more to come.

If you’re in the market for a Nintendo Switch, then keep reading to discover what “level” of purchasing you might be best suited to! And keep an eye out for the times I specify the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP), as it’s important to avoid what we call “scalpers”, who sell hard-to-find consoles and accessories at significantly inflated prices. ORIGINAL POST:

With the Nintendo Switch out now, we’re primed to begin our new series of community-driven posts: “Let’s play ______ this week!”

Think of it has “suggested playing” for the week. If we get enough of a response, we’ll compile your lovely words into a community post at the end of the week!

Anyway, all that’s left for me to say is, let’s have fun playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild this week!

Holly’s 3 most anticipated indies coming to Switch

The other staff members and I found it both difficult and easy to decide upon our lists of 3 most anticipated indie games coming to Nintendo Switch. Difficult how? Choosing just 3 is pretty hard! Easy how? The enormous variety of Nindies coming this year meant that we didn’t have to argue about who got to talk about which games! My list is as follows: Continue reading “Holly’s 3 most anticipated indies coming to Switch”

Upcoming indie games will take advantage of HD rumble on Nintendo Switch

A slew of indie games are heading to Nintendo Switch this year; during today’s Nindie Showcase, Nintendo spotlighted many of the ones that will be taking advantage of the Switch-exclusive HD rumble feature:

Overcooked

This one is a couch co-op game in which 1-4 players need to prepare and serve meals for impatient restaurant customers. HD rumble will provide the physical impression of ingredients being chopped, soup sloshing around, and more. It’ll be out on Nintendo Switch sometime this year.
